The Green Room
This home office had plenty of room and a great desk, but the walls were begging for interest and the space needed to work harder. There was no real home for storage (including a bike), and video calls happened in front of a bare wall with a bright window behind. The homeowner works from home and wanted a room that looked good on camera and kept things organized, without losing the moody feel they love.
The walls, trim, and built-ins are now a rich deep green, still dark but warmer and more layered than before. Roman shades, a plaid rug, a leather desk chair, and an arched floor lamp bring warmth around their existing walnut-and-marble desk and leather armchair. Two of their art pieces got handmade floating frames and a place on the shelves.
The built-ins started as IKEA units and were heavily reworked in the shop: cut to desk height, closed off below for hidden storage, and wrapped around the art nook and a window with bench storage. Shelf lighting runs on a timer, cords are tucked away, and the wall behind the desk finally looks good on camera.
