This bathroom had all the hallmarks of a generic flip: grey everything, zero personality, and a shower floor on the verge of structural failure. The homeowners wanted something with soul—a space that felt like stepping into a cozy city apartment with vintage character.

The design leans into contrast and warmth: classic black-and-white penny tile with a decorative border anchors the floor, while dramatic marbled porcelain creates a spa-like shower focal point. Dark wainscoting and trim add moodiness without shrinking the room, balanced by warm brass fixtures and schoolhouse lighting.

The showstopper is the converted antique dresser repurposed as a vanity—it brings the vintage authenticity that tile alone can't achieve. Large-format shower tile keeps the space feeling expansive while the copper penny tile floor in the shower adds an unexpected warm metallic moment.
